Who Hidimba is

Hidimba was a man-eating rakshasa who lived in the forest where the Pandavas rested after escaping the burning house of lac. Smelling humans, he sent his sister Hidimbi to lure them, but she fell in love with Bhima, who was keeping watch while the others slept. Enraged, Hidimba attacked; Bhima wrestled him away from his sleeping family so as not to wake them, and killed him. Hidimbi later married Bhima and bore Ghatotkacha.

“I can smell you from across the forest. Come closer.”
