Kumbhakarna
Who Kumbhakarna is
Kumbhakarna, younger brother of Ravana, was a rakshasa of enormous size and strength; the Uttara Kanda relates that when Brahma granted the brothers boons, his request became one for long sleep. Woken with great effort during the siege of Lanka, he told Ravana frankly that he had acted wrongly and against good counsel, yet out of loyalty he went out to fight. He fought tremendously against the vanara army before falling to Rama.
“You have woken me. Let us find out whether that was wise.”
