Who Paundraka is
Paundraka, king of Pundra, was flattered by foolish courtiers into believing that he was the true Vasudeva and Krishna an impostor. He fashioned for himself false copies of Krishna's emblems — a conch, a discus, a club, a lotus and a crown — and sent a messenger to Dvaraka demanding that Krishna surrender them. Krishna came to meet him in battle at Kashi and slew him, and Paundraka is remembered as the very image of a pretender.
“Whatever you play, I can play it too. Who then is the true master?”
