Raikva
Who Raikva is
Raikva was a humble sage who lived beside a cart, scratching his itching skin, yet whose wisdom was so great that, as two swans told King Janashruti, all the good deeds of the people flowed to him as the throws of a dice game flow to the winning throw. Janashruti sought him out with cows, a gold necklace and a chariot, and Raikva sent him away. Only when the king returned with greater sincerity did Raikva teach him the knowledge of the 'gatherer' — the wind that absorbs fire, sun and moon, and the breath that absorbs speech, sight, hearing and mind.
