Who Vatapi is
Vatapi and his brother Ilvala preyed on brahmin guests. Ilvala would turn Vatapi into a ram, cook him and serve him as a feast, then call his brother by name — and Vatapi would burst out of the guest's belly, killing him. When the great sage Agastya came to their home, he ate the whole meal and, before Ilvala could call, touched his belly and said, 'Vatapi, be digested.' Vatapi never came out again.
“Sit, eat, enjoy the feast. What could go wrong?”
