Virupaksha
Who Virupaksha is
Virupaksha, a rakshasa general of Ravana, rode into the final battles on a great war elephant, shooting arrows at the vanara host. Sugriva tore up a tree and struck the elephant, which fell; Virupaksha leapt down with sword and shield and fought on foot. He wounded Sugriva, but after a long duel Sugriva struck him on the forehead with his fist and killed him.
“My elephant tramples all before it. Stand aside or be crushed.”
How Virupaksha plays chess
Slow and heavy like a war elephant: builds a massive centre and rolls it forward.
The Classicist: Sound, balanced chess: develops, castles and takes what the position offers.
Opening repertoire: Queen's Gambit Accepted · Four Pawns Attack · Colle System
