Vishravas
Who Vishravas is
Vishravas was a great sage, son of the seer Pulastya, devoted to austerity and study. By his first wife he became the father of Kubera, lord of wealth. When the rakshasi Kaikasi came to him at the inauspicious hour of dusk, he foretold that the sons born of that union would be terrible, though the youngest would be devoted to dharma; and so he became the father of Ravana, Kumbhakarna, Shurpanakha and Vibhishana.
“From one father come very different sons. So too from one opening, very different games.”
