Bakasura
Who Bakasura is
Bakasura was a rakshasa who terrorised the town of Ekachakra, demanding that each household take turns sending him a cart of food together with a person to be eaten. The Pandavas, hiding in the town with their mother Kunti after escaping the house of lac, lodged with a brahmin family whose turn had come. Kunti sent Bhima instead; he ate the food himself before Baka's eyes, then wrestled the rakshasa and broke his back, freeing the town.
“Bring me your offering. I am always hungry.”
