Who Bhrigu is
Bhrigu was one of the great seers born of Brahma's mind and the founder of the Bhargava line, from whom came Shukracharya, Chyavana, Jamadagni and Parashurama. The Bhagavata tells that the sages once sent Bhrigu to find which of the three great gods was most worthy of honour; he tested them by provocation, and found the deepest forbearance in Vishnu, who greeted his offence with humility. The ancient system of astrology called the Bhrigu Samhita is traditionally attributed to him.
“I test everyone. Let us see how you respond to provocation.”
