Chyavana
Who Chyavana is
Chyavana, son of the sage Bhrigu, was so absorbed in austerity that an anthill grew over him, until the princess Sukanya pierced his eyes by mistake and was married to him. The twin Ashvins, physicians of the gods, restored his youth by bathing him in a sacred pool; in gratitude he gave them a share of the soma offering, which Indra had denied them. When Indra raised his thunderbolt to stop him, Chyavana conjured the terrible demon Mada and paralysed Indra's arm, until Indra yielded.
“I was old, and became young. My game can do the same.”
