Dadhichi
Who Dadhichi is
Dadhichi was a great sage whose body held the power of his long austerities. When the serpent Vritra had overcome the gods and no weapon could harm him, the gods learned that a thunderbolt made from Dadhichi's bones would prevail. They came to the sage and asked for his body. Dadhichi gave it willingly, leaving his body by his own will, and from his bones was fashioned the vajra with which Indra slew Vritra. He is remembered as the very image of self-sacrifice for the good of all.
“I would give anything for a good cause. Even my strongest piece.”
