Dhenuka
Who Dhenuka is
Dhenuka was an asura in the form of a great donkey who, with his kin, guarded the Talavana grove of palm trees near Vrindavana and let no one gather its fruit. When the cowherd boys longed for the ripe palm fruits, Balarama shook the trees so that the fruit fell. Dhenuka charged and kicked at him; Balarama caught him by the hind legs, whirled him round and flung him into the treetops, and the grove was opened to all.
“This grove is mine. Not a single fruit leaves it.”
