Hiranyakashipu
Who Hiranyakashipu is
Hiranyakashipu, son of the sage Kashyapa and Diti and brother of Hiranyaksha, performed austerities so severe that Brahma granted him a boon guarding against death by man or beast, by day or by night, indoors or outdoors, on the ground or in the sky. With it he ruled the three worlds as king of the daityas, but he could not accept that his own son Prahlada worshipped Vishnu, and tried in many ways to turn or destroy him. His reign ended at twilight, on the threshold of his own hall, when Vishnu appeared as Narasimha.
“I have sealed every path to my defeat. Find one, if you can.”
How Hiranyakashipu plays chess
