Who Kacha is
Kacha, son of Brihaspati, was sent by the devas to become a student of Shukracharya and learn the mritasanjivani, the knowledge of restoring life. He served his teacher and his teacher’s daughter Devayani faithfully for many years, and though the asuras killed him again and again, Shukracharya revived him each time at Devayani’s plea. He finally received the knowledge and used it to restore his own teacher, and he gently declined Devayani’s hand, regarding his guru’s daughter as a sister.
“I have been sent back to the start more times than I can count. I always return.”
How Kacha plays chess
Resilient to the core: pieces that are driven back simply return, and he quietly rebuilds every position that is knocked down.
The Grinder: Trades pieces gladly and squeezes the smallest edge in a long endgame.
Opening repertoire: Petrov Defence · Nimzo-Indian Defence
Defeat Kacha in a full game from the normal starting position to earn the achievement Mritasanjivani and open the way to the next guardian.
