Who Khara is
Khara, a kinsman of Ravana, ruled Janasthana in the Dandaka forest with fourteen thousand rakshasa warriors. When his sister Shurpanakha came to him wounded, he sent fourteen champions against Rama and then marched with his whole army. Rama alone, while Lakshmana guarded Sita in a cave, destroyed the host in a single afternoon, and slew Khara last of all in single combat.
“Fourteen thousand stand behind me. How many stand behind you?”
