Kripa
Who Kripa is
Kripa and his twin sister Kripi were born to the sage Sharadvan in a clump of reeds and found by King Shantanu, who raised them out of compassion, and from that compassion (kripa) they took their names. Kripa became the first teacher of arms to the Kuru princes and a master of the science of archery, and his sister married Drona. He fought for the Kauravas at Kurukshetra, survived the war, and in the Sauptika Parva counselled Ashwatthama to seek the advice of elders before acting.
“I taught the Kuru princes before any other teacher. Show me what you have learned.”
