Who Munda is
Munda marched beside Chanda at the head of Shumbha's army to seize the Goddess. When Kali emerged from the Goddess's brow and slew Chanda, Munda rushed at her in rage; she struck him down as well and carried both their heads to the Goddess. Delighted, the Goddess declared that because Kali had brought her Chanda and Munda, she would be known in the world as Chamunda.
“Chanda strikes first. I strike where he has opened the way.”
