Who Nishumbha is
Nishumbha, younger brother of Shumbha, shared his conquest of the three worlds. When the generals Dhumralochana, Chanda, Munda and Raktabija had all fallen to the Goddess and her Shaktis, Nishumbha rode out with his army to fight her himself. He struck at her lion and at the Goddess with sword and shield and with mighty clubs, and she struck him down with her arrows and trident before Shumbha came out to face her.
“Before you face my brother, you must get past me.”
