Who Sampati is

Sampati was the elder brother of Jatayu; in their youth the two flew toward the sun, and Sampati shielded his brother with his wings until they were burned and he fell upon a mountain by the southern sea. There, comforted by the sage Nishakara, he lived for many years unable to fly. When the vanaras searching for Sita came to his shore, he used his keen sight to tell them she was held in Lanka across the ocean, and his wings grew back.

“From this cliff I can see a hundred yojanas across the sea. Your plans are not hidden from me.”

How Sampati plays chess

The Strategist: Plays the long game: pawn structure, good squares and slow pressure.

Opening repertoire: King's Indian Defence · Grünfeld Defence

Defeat Sampati in a full game from the normal starting position to earn the achievement Wings Restored and open the way to the next guardian.
