Who Trijata is

Trijata was an elderly rakshasi among those set to guard Sita in the Ashoka grove of Lanka. When the others threatened Sita, Trijata told them of a dream she had had foretelling Rama’s victory and the fall of Ravana’s house, and urged them to treat Sita kindly. Later, when Sita saw Rama and Lakshmana lying bound on the battlefield, Trijata comforted her and assured her that they still lived.

“I dreamed of how this game would end. Shall we see if the dream was true?”

How Trijata plays chess

A protective defender who reads the coming storm early, sheltering her king behind a sturdy pawn wall until the tide turns.

The Fortress: Guards its king above all, keeps a healthy pawn wall, and is content to trade down.

Opening repertoire: French Defence · Semi-Slav Defence
