Sanjaya
Who Sanjaya is
Sanjaya, son of Gavalgana, was the charioteer and trusted counsellor of King Dhritarashtra. Before the war he carried messages between the Kauravas and the Pandavas (Udyoga Parva), and the sage Vyasa granted him divine sight so that he could perceive every part of the battle and describe it to the blind king (Bhishma Parva). It is through Sanjaya's narration that the Bhagavad Gita, the dialogue between Krishna and Arjuna, is reported.
“By the grace of the sage I see every square at once. Shall I tell you how this game unfolds?”
