Who Sudeshna is
Sudeshna was the queen of King Virata of Matsya and the sister of his general Kichaka. During the Pandavas' year in disguise she took Draupadi into her service as the maid Sairandhri. When her brother Kichaka lusted after Sairandhri, Sudeshna, despite misgivings, sent her to his house to fetch wine, setting in motion the events in which Bhima secretly slew Kichaka. When the Pandavas revealed themselves, Sudeshna's daughter Uttarā was married to Abhimanyu.
“A queen must keep the peace in her house. I will try.”
