Who Sulochana is
In regional Ramayana traditions, Sulochana was the devoted wife of Indrajit, the son of Ravana, and in some tellings a daughter of the serpent king Shesha. After Indrajit fell to Lakshmana, she came alone to Rama's camp to ask for her husband's head so that she could perform his last rites. Moved by her grief and courage, Rama and the vanaras honoured her and gave it to her, and she followed her husband into the funeral fire.
“I come alone and unafraid. Let us play with honour.”
