Who Sugriva is
Sugriva, younger brother of Vali, was driven from Kishkindha after a misunderstanding at the cave where Vali had fought the asura Mayavi, and took refuge on Mount Rishyamuka with Hanuman and a few loyal companions. There he made a pact of friendship with Rama before a kindled fire: Rama would help him regain his kingdom, and he would help find Sita. Crowned king, he sent search parties to the four directions, describing each region to them in detail, and led the vanara army in the war for Lanka.
“An alliance sworn before the fire does not break. Let us see how well your pieces work together.”
How Sugriva plays chess
A coalition builder who binds every piece into a single army and sends his search across the whole board.
The Dynamo: Restless, active pieces everywhere — will give up structure for initiative.
Opening repertoire: Giuoco Piano · Colle System
