Who Swayamprabha is

Swayamprabha was an ascetic woman who lived in a vast cave of golden trees and lotus pools, built by the asura Maya, which she kept for her friend, the apsara Hema. Hungry and lost while searching for Sita, Hanuman and Angada's party entered the cave and wandered in darkness until they found her. She fed them, and when they despaired of finding their way out, she told them to close their eyes and by her power set them down at once by the shore of the southern ocean.

“You are lost in the dark. Close your eyes, and I will show you the way.”
