Who Vibhishana is

Vibhishana was the younger brother of Ravana and devoted to dharma from his youth; the Uttara Kanda tells that when Brahma offered him a boon, he asked that his mind remain steadfast in righteousness. In the Yuddha Kanda he counselled Ravana again and again to return Sita and make peace, and when his counsel was rejected he crossed the sea with four companions and sought refuge with Rama, who accepted him. After the war he was crowned king of Lanka.

“I gave honest counsel, and when it was refused, I chose dharma. Let honesty guide this game too.”
