Who Abhimanyu is

Abhimanyu was the son of Arjuna and Subhadra, husband of Uttara, princess of Matsya, and father of Parikshit. On the thirteenth day, when Drona arrayed the wheel formation, he was the only warrior present on the Pandava side who knew how to break into it, though, as he told Yudhishthira, he had not learned the way out. He shattered the front of the formation and fought on with extraordinary courage until he fell, surrounded by many great warriors.

“I know the way in. Whether I need the way out, we shall see.”

How Abhimanyu plays chess

A young storm who storms the fortress with sacrificial gambits, breaking into the enemy camp with no thought of retreat.

The Storm: Throws everything at your king, values activity over pawns, and hates a quiet draw.

Opening repertoire: Smith-Morra Gambit · Danish Gambit
