Agastya
Who Agastya is
Agastya was a Rigvedic seer of immense power: he humbled the Vindhya mountains by asking them to bow and never rise again until he returned, drank the ocean dry so the gods could reach the asuras hiding beneath it, and digested the demon Vatapi. In the forest he welcomed Rama, Sita and Lakshmana and gave Rama divine weapons. Before the final battle with Ravana, he came to Rama on the battlefield and taught him the hymn Aditya Hridayam, praising the sun.
“I drank an ocean once. Your attack will not trouble me.”
