Who Arjuna is
Arjuna, third of the Pandavas, son of Kunti by Indra, was Drona's finest pupil, who saw only the eye of the bird he aimed at. He won Draupadi at her svayamvara by piercing a revolving target with his bow Gandiva, won the Pashupata weapon from Shiva in combat, and learned divine weapons in Indra's heaven. On the field of Kurukshetra, seized by doubt at the sight of his kin, he received from Krishna, his charioteer, the teaching of the Bhagavad Gita, and fought on to defeat Bhishma, Jayadratha and Karna.
“I see only the eye of the bird. Today, the bird is your king.”
