Who Ambalika is

Ambalika, youngest princess of Kashi, became a wife of King Vichitravirya and, after his early death, was visited by the sage Vyasa so that the Kuru line might continue. Seeing the sage's stern form she turned pale with fear, and so her son Pandu was born pale. Later, when the Kuru house had seen much sorrow, Ambalika went with Ambika and Satyavati to the forest to spend her last years in austerity.

“I do not go looking for danger. Let it come to me, if it must.”

How Ambalika plays chess

The Classicist: Sound, balanced chess: develops, castles and takes what the position offers.

Opening repertoire: Hippopotamus (Black) · Owen, Matovinsky · Caro-Kann, Bronstein-Larsen

Defeat Ambalika in a full game from the normal starting position to earn the achievement Out of the Shell and open the way to the next guardian.
