Ambika
Who Ambika is
Ambika, second princess of Kashi, was married with her sister Ambalika to King Vichitravirya of Hastinapura, who died young and childless. To continue the line, Queen Satyavati called her son, the sage Vyasa, to father children by the custom of niyoga. Frightened by the sage's fierce appearance, Ambika closed her eyes, and so her son Dhritarashtra was born blind.
“I would rather not see what is coming. Let us play quietly.”
