Who Anshuman is
Anshuman was the grandson of King Sagara, whose sixty thousand sons had been reduced to ashes by the gaze of the sage Kapila when they accused him of stealing the horse of their father's sacrifice. Sent to find them, the humble Anshuman bowed before Kapila, who let him take the horse back and told him that only the waters of the heavenly Ganga could free his uncles' souls. Anshuman spent his life in penance without succeeding; his son Dilipa tried too, and his grandson Bhagiratha at last brought the Ganga down to earth.
“I bow before I play. Humility opens many doors.”
