Who Chitrangada is

Chitrangada was the daughter of King Chitravahana of Manipura, whose line had only one heir in each generation. Arjuna married her during his pilgrimage on the condition that their son would continue her father’s dynasty, and their son Babruvahana became king of Manipura. When Arjuna later came to Manipura following the sacrificial horse, she mourned him when he fell and rejoiced when he was restored.

“Manipura has one heir in every generation. I play to keep that line unbroken.”
