Dhritarashtra
Who Dhritarashtra is
Born blind to Ambika through the sage Vyasa, Dhritarashtra became king of the Kurus and, with Gandhari, father of a hundred sons, Duryodhana the eldest. Wise counsel was always near him, from Vidura and from Sanjaya, who was given divine sight to narrate the war to him, yet love for his sons kept him from restraining them. After the war he lived for a time under Yudhishthira's care and then withdrew to the forest with Gandhari and Kunti.
“I cannot see the board as you do, but I hear every move. Begin.”
