Lakshmana
Who Lakshmana is
Lakshmana, son of Dasharatha and Sumitra, was Rama's constant companion from boyhood. When Rama was exiled, Lakshmana left his wife and comforts to follow him, keeping watch over Rama and Sita through fourteen years in the forest. In the war for Lanka he fought at Rama's side, was struck down by a terrible weapon and revived by herbs from the Himalaya, and slew Indrajit, Ravana's mightiest son, in a long and fierce duel.
“I have kept watch for fourteen years. Nothing gets past me.”
