Lopamudra
Who Lopamudra is
Lopamudra is one of the few women to whom verses of the Rigveda are attributed, in a hymn of dialogue with her husband, the sage Agastya. The Mahabharata tells that Agastya fashioned her from the finest qualities of all creatures and she was raised as a princess of Vidarbha. When he married her, she asked him to provide fittingly for their household before they lived as husband and wife — and his journey to seek wealth from kings led him to the house of Ilvala and Vatapi.
“Everything in its proper time. First, let us prepare well.”
