Who Sandipani is
Sandipani was a sage of Avantika, the city of Ujjain, to whose hermitage Krishna and Balarama went after the death of Kamsa to complete their studies, together with their friend Sudama. They learned the Vedas, the arts of war and the sixty-four arts in as many days. When it came time to offer a teacher's fee, Sandipani asked only for his son, who had drowned at Prabhasa; Krishna and Balarama brought the boy back from the realm of Yama.
“Every game is a lesson. Let me show you something.”
