Who Satyavan is

Satyavan was the son of Dyumatsena, a blind king who had lost his kingdom and lived in a forest hermitage. The princess Savitri chose him as her husband, though the sage Narada warned that he was destined to die within a year. On the fated day, as Satyavan was cutting wood in the forest, he fell and died with his head in her lap. Yama came to take his life, and Savitri followed Yama and, with her wisdom and devotion, won back her husband's life, along with his father's sight and kingdom.

“I cut wood and tend my parents. Let us play a quiet game.”
