Vasishtha
Who Vasishtha is
Vasishtha was one of the great seers of the Rigveda, whose hymns fill its seventh book, and the family priest of the solar kings of Ayodhya, teacher of Rama and his brothers. When the warrior-king Vishvamitra tried to seize his wish-granting cow Nandini, Vasishtha's spiritual power overcame all of Vishvamitra's armies and weapons with only his staff. Despite long and bitter rivalry, and even the loss of his sons, he never sought revenge, and at last acknowledged Vishvamitra as a brahmarshi.
“Armies broke against a single staff. Bring yours.”

Placement on the path reflects chess difficulty only — a game-design choice, not a ranking of anyone's spiritual standing.
